Substitute Insurance: Integration into Compulsory Health Insurance Scheme (VOZ)

This substitute insurance has been formed for those persons (mostly non-residents), who cannot acquire the status of a compulsory health insurance beneficiary pursuant to the Health Care and Health Insurance Act. By subscription to the VOZ health insurance scheme those persons can be provided almost the same level of health care as any person entering the system of compulsory health insurance according to the law. Accordingly, the VOZ beneficiaries can claim the right to health services from the compulsory health insurance scheme in the extent (as a total or as a percentage share) stipulated by the law.
